Certified by Ganga White & Tracy Rich at The White Lotus Foundation, I see beauty and love in all types of yoga. My practice and teaching honors many traditions: hatha, vinyasa, iyengar, tantra, bhakti, intuitive, & therapeutic yoga. Why pick just one? Also certified in thai bodywork from the thai massage school of Chiang Mai, my classes are very hands-on allowing students to go deeply inside their bodies, minds, and spirits while releasing any blockages along the way.

My intention is to help people heal themselves by guiding them through asanas (yoga postures) and  pranayama (breathing techniques) to unify the body, mind, and spirit. And in this union, which is the essence of yoga, you will find the peaceful space within yourself to heal, to love, to be you. I enjoy teaching private & small group yoga classes and often combine other healing techniques such as thai bodywork, massage, reflexology, and aromatherapy treatments. For me, yoga is a path to self-discovery and self-love, so you can live with an open heart and share your love & creativity with the world.

Have you ever really heard silence? Most of us have minds that run a mile a minute- worrying about if you left the oven on, if the kids are safe, if that newly discovered hair was just really, really blond or grey, what you'll eat this week, where your next vacation should be and when in the world you'll have time to take it, how you forgot to call Grandma on her birthday, why your boss yelled at you, and the list could go on and on. These constant thoughts all have one thing in common: they take you away from the present moment. Eckhart Tolle beautifully teaches the art of living in the present moment in "The Power of Now." Once you shine a spot light, or consciousness, on the overactive negative mind, a sort of "vampire in the light" effect occurs; the negativity and chaos sizzle away, leaving only peace and happiness. Yoga will help you shine this spot light on yourself and reclaim the now, clearing the mind, thus bring your true inner self outwards. We are in complete control of our lives; yoga puts us back behind the steering wheel.

And besides all that soul searching, life-changing, amazing stuff that occurs with yoga, it's FUN! I encourage you to be playful, laugh, smile, and let that inner child loose again.

Namaste and smiles,

-Bethany
